Thermoforming is a method of plastic manufacturing that was developed by Plaxall's founder Louis Pfohl (1903-1986) in 1938. The world was looking for new and innovative ways to produce inexpensive plastic goods. Always looking for a new challenege, Louis developed a system which involved heating sheets of plastic material and then forming them over wooden molds. This process was later coined thermoforming.
Since its conception, thermoforming has continually evolved and is now considered as much an art form as a manufacturing process. Through CAD design and CNC machining plaxall is able to produce intricate precision aluminum tooling in dimensions up to 50"(L) x 26"(W) x 20"(H). By pushing the boundaries in both design and manufacturing processes Plaxall has remained a leading innovator in Custom Thermoforming.
Custom Thermoforming is a skill. It requires both research, experience and most importantly innovation. With more than 70 years experience in vaccum forming Plaxall has the expertise to provide your company with the quality products you demand.
